ELDER-BEERMAN PARENT FIRM TO HIRE 13,000 FOR HOLIDAYS

Bon-Ton Stores, the parent of Elder-Beerman department stores, is hiring for 13,000 positions before the holiday season.

The company will hire associates for all its store locations to service customers during the busy season. Bon-Ton is also looking to hire an additional 500 additional employees for its distributi­on centers and its e-commerce fulfillmen­t center.

“Bon-Ton plans to increase our staffing for the holiday season so we can provide an exceptiona­l shopping experience to our customers,” said Bill Tracy, chief operating officer. “Hiring additional staffing will ensure we deliver fast, friendly service and meet customer expectatio­ns in our stores as well as online.”

All positions include an immediate 20 percent shopping discount, one-on-one training, and an opportunit­y to transition to full-time and part-time positions when the season ends, according to a statement from the company.

Elder-Beerman has locations at the Dayton Mall, the Mall at Fairfied Commons and the Towne Mall in Middletown.

Bon-Ton also operates stores including the Boston Store, Bergner’s, Carson’s, Herberger’s and Younkers. Interested applicants who enjoy a fun and fast paced environmen­t can apply online or stop by any store to apply.

The Bon-Ton Stores, with corporate headquarte­rs in York, Penn. and Milwaukee, Wis., operates 267 stores, which includes nine furniture galleries and four clearance centers.
