Don’t miss: “Feud: Bette and Joan”:

-

You don’t have to be a vintage film buff to enjoy this rollicking new anthology series, but it helps. Over eight lovingly crafted episodes, it recalls the legendary rivalry between Hollywood icons Joan Crawford ( Jessica Lange) and Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon) while also exploring the ageism and sexism they endured in the twilight of their careers. The marvelous cast includes Alfred Molina, Stanley Tucci, Judy Davis, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Sarah Paulson and Kathy Bates. 10 p.m. Sunday, FX.

Today:

What is it with all the time-travel plot lines these days? In the new comedy “Making History,” a nerdy dude (Adam Pally) transports himself back to the 1700s to hang out with his latest crush Paul Revere’s daughter (Leighton Meester). Funny things apparently happen. 8:30 p.m., Fox.

Here’s another one: The new drama “Time After Time” has Jack the Ripper ( Josh Bowman) stealing a time machine built by H.G. Wells (Freddie Stroma) and taking off to terrorize present-day citizens in New York. Wells, of course, goes after him. But will it be worth our time? 9 p.m., ABC.

“Origins: The Journey of Humankind” is an eight-part series that celebrates the story of how we earthlings came to be so darn civilized. Part 1 looks at the way man harnessed fire. 9 p.m., National Geographic.

The new limited series “People Icons” is a collaboration between ABC News and People magazine. Hosted by Lara Spencer, it examines different topics and personalities each week. First up: celebrity love stories, including the Obamas, Prince William and Kate, and others. 10 p.m., ABC.
