Dr. was doubly honored when he was honored by the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) at the organization’s annual Imaging and Geospatial Information Society (IGIS) conference in Baltimore.

In his recognition letter, ASPRS Acting Executive Director Jesse Winch said that Abdullah had worked diligently and unselfishly for the science of the profession.

from ASPRS. The honor recognized his column called “Mapping Matters,” which is published monthly in the organization’s Photogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing (PE&RS) Journal for “at least the last 10 years.”
These most recent ASPRS honors come on the heels of his appointment to the Transportation Research Board’s Standing Committee on Geospatial Data Acquisition Technology earlier this month, and his bestowing of a United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) certification as a Certified GEOINT Professional in Remote Sensing and Imagery Analysis in late 2016.

The award acknowledges cancer programs that achieve excellence in providing quality care to cancer patients. Kettering Health Network is one of only 42 U.S. health care facilities with accredited cancer programs to receive this national honor for surveys performed last year.
Kettering Health Network’s cancer program was evaluated on 34 cancer program standards categorized within one of four cancer program activity areas: cancer committee leadership, cancer data management, clinical services, and quality improvement. Programs are further evaluated on seven commendation standards.
