A woman wanted in connection with the shooting death of Taylor Brandenburg was arrested Saturday evening, while visitation services were held Sunday afternoon for the 20-year-old woman who died while baby-sitting at a Dayton home. Kara Parisi-King, 26, was arrested Saturday at a Fairborn motel. She was booked into the Montgomery County Jail under several counts, including complicity to commit two counts murder; complicity to commit two counts felonious assault; and complicity to commit discharge of a firearm over prohibited premises.

“We are relieved that (Parisi-King) is in custody. Our main concern is that justice is served for our Taylor,” Tammie Rowe, Brandenburg’s aunt, said.

Parisi-King is scheduled to appear this afternoon in Dayton Municipal Court.

Parisi-King is the girlfriend of Chuckie Lee, 38,

who was charged Thursday with two counts of murder in Brandenburg’s death.

Prosecutors believe Parisi-King assisted Lee with a semi-automatic pistol believed to have been used to shoot Brandenburg, who died of multiple gunshot wounds early March 12. Brandenburg was baby-sitting children at a home on Huffman Avenue and walked outside into the street where she was shot. Friends and police say she was not the intended target.

Dayton police arrested Lee the following day. He is being held on $1 million bond.

Brandenburg’s family released a statement prior to her visitation on Sunday.

“On behalf of our friends and family, we would like to thank the Dayton Police Department and their detectives for all of their effort in bringing the alleged killer into custody,” the statement read. “We are very grateful for the outpouring of support from our community and beyond. At this time, our family is in grieving, and please continue to keep us in prayer.”

The night Brandenburg was killed, a fight at the Glass Hat — a bar nearly a halfmile from Huffman Avenue — broke out.

A 911 caller from the bar said, “there’s blood everywhere” and that “there are people outside of the bar threatening to shoot the people inside. We can’t let them leave. There was a big fight that broke out.

“I just wanted to call to make sure in case anything happened.”

Dayton police said that after the bar incident, two sets of vehicles traveled from the bar on Linden Avenue to the first block of Huffman.

Suspects fired multiple shots in the direction of one of the cars, according to Dayton police, and Brandenburg ended up being hit.

Brandenburg’s funeral is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road.
