TODAY IS THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR MAY ELECTION

School levies, tax issues on ballots across Greene, Montgomery, Warren, Miami and other counties.

Monday is the deadline to register to vote in the May 2 election.

There are lots of school levies and tax issues on the ballot. Several communitie­s have candidates on the ballot, but most do not.

You can register to vote at your county Board of Elections office or online at MyOhioVote.com/ VoterRegis­tration. You can also go there to update a current registrati­on.

Early voting starts Tuesday, April 4. You can vote in-person at your county Board of Elections office or by mail. To vote by mail, you will need to request an absentee ballot from your county.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY

ISSUES Brookville: Levy for streets and bridges. Additional, 2.5 mills. Brookville: Levy for police. Additional, 5 mills. Brookville: Initiative petition repealing Ordinance 2016-8. Huber Heights: 8 city charter changes. Huber Heights: Local liquor option, Shoppes at the Heights Community Entertainm­ent District. West Carrollton: 0.25% income tax continuati­on. New Lebanon: Levy for police. Additional, 3.5 mills. Phillipsbu­rg: Municipal income tax, 0.5% increase. Jefferson Twp.: Levy for operating expenses. Additional 3.75 mills.
