The race is set for Jan. 27, again at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

The women’s world championships resume today with semifinals matches between undefeated U.S. vs. Germany and Finland vs. Canada in Plymouth, Mich.

Shoemaker pitched five strong innings in his return to the mound as his Los Angeles Angels beat the Oakland Athletics 7-6 on Tuesday night.

Shoemaker threw 99 pitches and left with a 4-2 lead.
