Danis honored with Torch Award
The Better Business Bureau has announced that Danis Building Construction Co. was honored with the BBB’s eighth annual Torch Award. Danis received the honor at the BBB’s Eclipse Integrity Awards recently at David H. Ponitz Sinclair Center.
Through the years, the BBB’s torch has been the symbol of guidance and
enlightenment as consumers and businesses strive to interact in a trustworthy and ethical marketplace. The local Torch Award is
dedicated to the legacy of great Miami Valley business pioneers, such as John Patterson, Wilbur and Orville Wright, Charles Kettering, Colonel Edward Deeds and most recently, Clay Mathile. It was through their ingenuity, leadership, generosity and mentorship to others the Miami Valley has stood
the test of time and recreated itself again and again.
The list of reasons the selection committee decided to recognize Danis Building Construction Co. as the BBB Torch Award
honoree is long. Its com- munity impact program - Constructing Hope - is the conduit the company embraces to be a responsible neighbor. Through this program, the company impacts organizations that serve those in need, such as The Foodbank of Dayton, Ronald McDonald House Charities and Rebuilding Together Dayton. The program goal for 2016 was for Danis employees to com- plete a cumulative total of 1,200 volunteer hours. This goal was surpassed with 206 employees volunteering at 48 nonprofit organizations for a total of 2,604 hours.
