Plus-size women’s retailer opening at Beavercreek mall

- By Kara Driscoll

A new women’s clothing retailer is set to open at the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek.

Torrid, a plus-size women’s clothing store, is set to open on Monday in a 3,030 squarefoot space near the food court. Torrid’s collections of fashion apparel, accessories, swimwear, lingerie and shoes are designed exclusively for women sizes 10 to 30.

“The Mall at Fairfield Commons is excited to further diversify and expand our retail roster with Torrid,” said Kristie Miller, general manager at The Mall at Fairfield Commons. “We strive to meet shopper demand by providing dynamic national and local brands and retail concepts, as well as family-friendly dining and entertainment options all within our town center.”

Each piece is made and constructed specifically to fit and flatter curvy figures, rather than being a “sized up” version of a fashion piece, according to the retailer. Once developed, the clothing items are tried and tested on women of different sizes and shapes to ensure a good fit.

The first 100 customers in line will get a mystery Torrid gift card valued up to $100. All customers who enroll in the Torrid loyalty program, Torrid Insider, at the The Mall at Fairfield Commons’ store from June 16 through June 18 will be entered into a sweepstakes for the chance to win a $500 shopping spree.
