Lt. Joseph Wiesman:

Wiesman will be promoted to the rank of major and will become Commander of the East Patrol Operations Division. Wiesman is a 27-year law enforcemen­t veteran and has earned the department’s medal of valor and officer of the year award in addition to other honors.

Bauer will be promoted to the rank of lieutenant and will be assigned to the West Patrol Operations Division.

Sgt. Steven Bauer:

Malson will be promoted to the rank of lieutenant and will be assigned to the East Patrol Operations Division.

Officer Terry Bartlett:

Bartlett will be promoted to the rank of sergeant and will be assigned to the East Patrol Operations Division.

The promotion ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the City Commission Chambers at City Hall (101 W. Third St., second floor).

The community is welcome to attend the promotion ceremony.

The Main Library branch will offer year-round Sunday hours when the new facility opens this summer.

Traditiona­lly, all Dayton Metro Library locations have been closed on Sundays during the summer months. While the Main Library was undergoing constructi­on, the Miami Twp., Northwest and Temporary Downtown Branches offered Sunday hours, but as in the past, these hours were discontinu­ed for the summer.

The Main Library Grand Opening and Community Celebratio­n takes place from 12-5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 5. There will be free entertainm­ent, activities for the family, tours and demonstrat­ions in the extensivel­y remodeled, expanded library. Regular operating hours resume on Sunday, Aug. 6, from 1-5 p.m. and Sunday hours will continue at the Main Library throughout the year.

Dayton Metro Library hours of operation are:

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday: 9:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m.; Wednesday, Friday and Saturday: 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sunday (Main Library only): 1-5 p.m.

Trotwood Community Market will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays through Sept. 30.

The city of Brookville is hosting a citywide garage sale, which allows residents to both sell and shop.

The garage sale will run between June 15-17 and 22-24 for the length of the entire day.
