The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC)
The Presidents Club of Dayton announced that
is the 67th recipient of the region’s 2017 Citizen Legion of Honor Award. The award, given every year since 1951, is the oldest and most continuous recognition of volunteer servant leadership in the Dayton region.
Mills is founder of both Synergy Building Systems and Mills Development, two of the region’s top construction and land development companies in the area. Through Mills’ intense work ethic and vision for quality development in and around the I-75 and I-675 corridors, his companies have made a huge impact on the creation of office and residential space for decades, organizers said.
Mills has served as a volunteer leader on more than a dozen corporate and not-forprofit boards over the past 30 years, including Greene Memorial Hospital; the Air Force Museum; Wright State University Foundation; and the Dayton Development Coalition.
Most recently, Mills and his family created the Gala of Hope Foundation and have raised more than $6 million to fight cancer and improve cancer care in the region. Additionally, he and his family supported Dayton Children’s new patient tower, supporting local children’s needs for important healthcare services.
Mills has been recognized for his leadership by the Dayton Regional STEM School; Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce; Leukemia & Lymphoma Society; as the American Cancer Society’s Man of the Year; and with the Mathile Community Award.
Robert W. Mills Jr. Dale E. Creech
has been presented with the Honorable Walter H. Rice Honorary Alumni Award by the University of Dayton School of Law.
Creech serves as system vice president and chief legal officer for Premier Health. He served as adjunct professor and has been a supporter and mentor to the UD School of Law and to its graduates.
Creech has an extensive background in health care law. He served as president of the Ohio Society of Healthcare Attorneys and is a member of the state and federal Supreme Courts, the American Bar Association, American Health Lawyers, and the Ohio Society of Healthcare Attorneys.

The ads feature footage of the Greater Miami Valley Region, including local parks, landmarks, and infrastructure, and they explain what MVRPC is doing to enhance residents’ quality of life.
The Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce
has been named a finalist for the 2017 Chamber of the Year award, presented by Alexandria, Va.based Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) and sponsored by Indianapolis-based WebLink International.
Finalists for the award of which there are three in each category will be celebrated at a special event July 18 in Nashville.
Chamber of the Year is the nation’s only award recognizing the leadership role chambers have in their communities. Those honored with the Chamber of the Year designation have demonstrated organizational strength and made an impact on key community priorities, such as education, transportation, business development and quality of life.
