Before she was an ace detective who took down bad guys and overcame workplace sexism, Jane Tennison was just a 22-year-old rookie probationa­ry officer in 1970s London. This absorbing, three-episode “Masterpiec­e” prequel turns back the clock to explore the early events and influences that shaped the iconic character immortaliz­ed by Helen Mirren. Stefanie Martini (“Doctor Thorne”) stars as the young Jane. 10 p.m. Sunday, PBS.

Hoop dreams will come true when Drake hosts the inaugural “NBA Awards.” Held in New York City, the event honors the standout performers from the 2016-17 season, including MVP, top defensive player and best rookie. 9 p.m., TNT.

After seven seasons of ominous mysteries and various shenanigan­s, the popular drama, “Pretty Little Liars,” comes to an end with a two-hour series finale. The episode title has us concerned: “Till Death Do Us Part.” 8 p.m., Freeform.

As “Younger” returns for its fourth season, Liza’s (Sutton Foster) love life is in disarray as she reels from her breakup with boyfriend Josh (Nico Tortorella), who was going to propose … until — oops — he discovered her kissing her boss, Charles (Peter Hermann). 10 p.m., TV Land.

Detectives Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller (David Tennant and Olivia Colman) return for the final chapter of the riveting British crime series, “Broadchurc­h.” This time, the story focuses on a sexual assault that shocks the sleepy seaside town to its core. 10 p.m., BBC America.
