The Federal Bureau of Investigation raided at least four Montgomery County homes to serve sealed search warrants Thursday morning, but didn’t elaborate about the cases.

Several different law enforcement agencies aided the FBI in entering three houses in Harrison Twp. — on Wilding Avenue, Cardinal Avenue and Cromwell Place — along with a residence on Pepper Drive in Huber Heights.

“The only information I can confirm is that the FBI and our law enforcement partners were conducting law enforcement operations at locations in the Dayton area today,” said FBI spokesman Todd Lindgren, who said the related raids involved federal search warrants.

Lindgren wouldn’t say exactly how many homes were searched or those addresses.

The FBI has often enlisted the assistance of local law enforcement agencies when they serve potentially high-risk search warrants.

Reporters from this news organization saw what looked like a tactical style shotgun removed from the Huber Heights home and that investigators wore protective chemical gear in at least one Harrison Twp. address.

Residents reported they saw Montgomery County and Warren County deputies along with Huber Heights police officers conduct the early morning sweep.

One Huber Heights man said his father woke up to a surprise with shouting and door-pounding.

“Just looked outside and it raised a lot of questions, that’s pretty much it,” said Isail Castro. “He was too scared to leave the house.”

Two of the locations — one in the 2300 block of Wilding Avenue and one near Cardinal Avenue — are less than a half-mile apart east of North Dixie Drive.

The home in the first block of Cromwell Place is north of West Siebenthaler Avenue. The residence in the 5100 block of Pepper Drive in Huber Heights is west of Brandt Pike.
