The October Sense of Place Program sponsored by B-W Greenway Community Land Trust will be held at 6:30 p.m., Monday, at the Fairborn Library, 1 East Main St.
The program will be presented by Donna Lewis, Clark County Park District and Stephanie Hylinski, Boonshoft Museum of Discovery. This program will be very fun and informative for all age groups as you will be introduced to some creepy and cool animal ambassadors from the Boonshoft. Animal ambassadors will include snakes and bats. Learn why they aren’t scary at all, but very beneficial to the environment in which they live.

Join a naturalist for this series of hikes featuring the glow of the full moon at several Greene County Parks & Trails sites.
The next full moon hike will be held beginning at 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 5, at Indian Mound Reserve, Williamson Mound Parking Lot, 2750 US 42 E, Cedarville. The October hike will feature the Hunter’s Moon.
The hikes are free to all participants; donations are accepted. Please dress for the weather.

Join the Greene County Parks & Trails naturalists for Ladies Night Out from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6, at the Narrows Reserve Nature Center, 2575 Indian Ripple Road. Cost is $25 per person, Greene County resident; $30, non-resident. Pre-registration is required.
Participants will learn how to create a pine needle basket with all of the wooden bases, needle and sinew provided. To decorate, participants may bring their own beads, charms or other accessories.

Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road, east of the Ohio 48 intersection has been closed since July 25 for a roadway safety improvements project. Work will be continuing for an additional four weeks for underground utility work and for winter preparation of the project area. Work on the roadway safety improvement project will be suspended until spring 2018.
Immediately after the winter preparation for the roadway safety improvements project, South Lebanon will begin a sanitary sewer project on Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road between John C. Quinn Boulevard and 556 Mason-Morrow-Milgrove Road ( just west of Riley Street). The sanitary sewer project is expected to take four weeks, weather permitting.
Detour signage for the closure will remain with access to Barrett’s Marathon Auto Service and Little Miami Veterinary Clinic being available by way of John C. Quinn Boulevard.

Construction on a key new section of the Bethany Road and Mason-Montgomery Road Bike Path is now complete. A collaboration with the City of Mason, the project connects the bike path at Windemere Way with the Bethany Road Roundabout and extends it from the roundabout to the existing path in Deerfield Township’s Fleckenstein Park.
The pathways provide important pedestrian access to the park for those who reside in surrounding areas. Additionally, they serve as an integral connection for the township to the Little Miami Scenic Trail, as outlined in the City of Mason’s Bike Path and Pedestrian Way Master Plan and Deerfield Twp. Comprehensive Plan.
The Lebanon Theatre Company is holding auditions for its holiday production of ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas.’ Auditions for speaking roles will be open to high school students on Oct. 3 and Oct. 4 at 6 p.m.
Auditions for the treble choir will be held on Oct. 10 and Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. and will be open to 4th-8th-grade students. Choir students must be prepared to sing, ‘Christmas Time is Here.’
Both auditions will be held at the Mechanic Street Theater at 10 S. Mechanic St. in downtown Lebanon.

The 4th annual Lebanon Oktoberfest Event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14 in downtown Lebanon on Mulberry Street. This free community event will feature a wide selection of craft beers, food vendors, and live music featuring Modelbehavior, The Klaberheads, Timestamp, and Jessie Lyn Fisher & the TNT Band. The event begins at 11 a.m. and runs until 10:30 p.m. There is a kids zone sponsored by L.L. Bean that includes Cool Critters demonstrations at 11 a.m., a pooch parade beginning at 11 a.m., and “Zoom Team” dog agility shows at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The event helps raise money for Miller Ecological Park.
