Dear Readers:

If your children or teenagers have lots of T-shirts that they have outgrown or don’t want to wear anymore, don’t throw them out. They may offer memories of times when the family has taken trips or has attended sporting or musical events. So here’s how to repurpose them: First, have your children identify the T-shirts they don’t want. These can be used as cleaning cloths. Then they can choose their favorite designs or logos. Cut these shirts into squares and sew them together to make a T-shirt memory quilt.

I often like leftovers like soups, stews and chili better than when they’re first made. And I don’t like to waste or throw out leftovers either. Here are some ideas, like adding a new ingredient or seasoning, to give the food a new taste.

Grind up leftover meat and add mayo and chopped veggies to make a sandwich spread. Add cooked vegetables to salads. Chop up potatoes, brown with onion and stir in eggs for breakfast. Create a veggie hash by frying leftover vegetables and mixing in your favorite seasoning. Toss leftover meat or vegetables with warm or cold pasta.

Instead of buying expensive beauty products, you can make some that are just as effective and a lot cheaper! After I clean and steam my face, I apply honey all over it and leave it on for 2 to 3 minutes and then take it off with a warm, wet washcloth. Works great and cleans out pores.
