Ohio’s congressional delegation sends thoughts and prayers to Vegas,
Senators, U.S. Reps offer messages of unity and prayers.
WASHINGTON — Ohio lawmakers offered condolences on social media and in pub
lic to the victims of the largest mass shooting in U.S. history.
Rep. Mike Turner, R-Dayton, said that his thoughts and prayers were with the
victims and their families. “Absolutely tragic newsfrom #LasVegas,” he wrote on Twitter. S en. Sherrod Brown,
D-Ohio, tweeted his thanks to law enforcement and medical personnel responding to the shooting. “We stand with Las Vegas & everyone affected by this senseless violence,” he tweeted.
“We are praying for those taken from us, their families & all those injured in this attack,” tweeted en. Rob Portman, R-Ohio.
Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Niles, tweeted, “My heart breaks for Las Vegas in the wake of this horrific act of vio- lence. We can’t let this be the norm. These occurrences must end.”

o nes. In a second tweet, he called the violence “gut- wrenchingly horrible and beyond unspeakable.”
Perhaps the most poignant tweet came from Rep. Steve Scalise, R-Louisiana, who returned to the House floor last week after a June mass shooting in Alexandria that nearly killed him.
“Jennifer and I are praying for the victims of this unspeakable violence in Las Vegas,” he wrote.
