Men raped, shot and doused in gas in gang attack, police say

Three suspected CLEVELAND — members of the Heartless Felons are in custody after they doused two menwith gasoline, tiedthem up and then raped one and shot a third man, according to police.

Troy White, 47, Nathaniel Ramos Jr., 18, and Keli Dunnican, 22, are all charged in connection with the incident that happened Thursday in the 3000 block of Sackett Avenue near West 25th Street in the city’s Clark-Fulton neighborho­od.

White is charged with felonious assault and is being held in the city jail on $100,000 bond; Ramos is charged with aggravated burglary and is jailed on $25,000 bond; and Duncan is charged with aggravated robbery and is jailed on $50,000 bond.

The trio are suspected members of the dangerous street gang, according to court records.

The incident happened about 12:30 a.m. Thursday. The trio showedupat a 31-year-oldman’s apartment and knocked on the door. Ramos and Duncan wore masks, police reports say.

The 31-year- old man cracked the door open and the three men forced their way inside, according to police reports.

The group punched and kicked the man, along with a 51-year-old man who was in the house, according to police. They bound the 31-year-old man’s hands behind his back with blue tape, according to police.

The 31-year- old man told police he called White a homophobic slur and accused of him of sexually assaulting inmates in prison, according to police reports. Theasserti­onangeredW­hite. Ramos and Dunnican held the man down while White sexually assaulted the 31-year-old with a metal pipe threader, police said.

Ramos then poured gasoline on both men. They decided against lighting them on f i re a f te r Dunnican talked the other two out of it, according to police reports.

A 41-year-old man then showed up at the house, police reports say. White pointed a gun at theman and threatened him, according to police. The man fought with the three men before White pulled out a gun and shot him twice in his right leg, according to police.

The man ran into a room after the shooting and held the door shut as he yelled for help. Dunnican stole a cellphone and shoes, and the trio ran from the home, police reports say.

Cleveland police officers saw the three men walking on West 33rd Street near MeyerAvenu­e, police reports say. They ran from officers through backyards until police caughtupwi­ththemat a home in the 3200 block of Fulton Road, police reports say. Dunnican and Ramos were outside and White was arrested in a detached garage, police reports say.

Whitehadah­andguninhi­s pocket, police said. Ramos had 14 baggies of marijuana in his pocket and smelled of gasoline, according to police. Dunnican had rolls of duct tape, a knife and three cellphones, including the stolen phone, in his backpack, police reports say.

Investigat­ors found two fired bullet casings and a bullet fragmentin­side thehome. They also discovered a pool of blood, gasoline, several crack pipes, the metal tool used in the rape, according to police reports.

Dunnican and Ramos refused to give police a statement. White told police he was involved in a theft ring with the 31-year-oldmanand 51-year-oldmanandt­hat they smoked crack together earlier in the day, according to police reports.

Dunnican and Ramos do not have adult criminal histories, but White has served two prison stints for armed robberies in Cleveland.
