City of Xenia hires former Duncan Oil Co. director
Wright State, Cedarville alum takes assistant city manager post.
The city of Xenia’s new assistant city manager formerly worked for a Beavercreek oil company.
Jared Holloway has been hired to replace the former assistant city manager, Ryan Duke, who was appointed to be the finance director following the retirement of Mark Bazelak.
Holloway was hired at an annual salary of $85,000.
His duties are to supervise all city departments and employees, as well as assist City Manager Brent Merriman in planning, coordinating and directing daily operations.
The city’s job description states the assistant city manager does research for reports on “best practices and trends for the city, in terms of management, strategic planning and operations.
Holloway’s job also involves responding to complaints from the public, hiring new city employees, evaluating performances, engaging in collective bargaining negotiations and participating in discussions and development of policies.
Holloway formerly worked as director of pricing and supply for the Duncan Oil Company.
His duties there included managing fuel purchases, analyzing the market and competitors and determining customer pricing methods.
Holloway earned a bachelor’s degree in business marketing at Wright State University and a master’s degree in business administration at Cedarville University, according to the city.
Holloway worked at Wright State as a business manager from 2012 to 2014, according to his Linkedin profile.
Holloway lives in Xenia with his wife and daughter.
