Dayton’s ‘Fairy Godmother of Beer’ gets a shout-out
It is hard to keep a good fairy in a box.
PattiRussell-Campbell, Dayton’sofficially-unofficial“Fairy Godmother of Beer,” and her trusty sidekick Cindy Pavelka Callahan, recently got mad props on the website Good Beer Hunting.
Kyle Kastranec introduced theworld to the dynamic duo in the post “Hunter/Gatherer #18— Patti and Cindy at Jackie O’s Brewery in Athens, OH.”
Patti’s “vibrant pink cap with a large, bedazzled flamingo pinned to the front” caught Kastranec’s eye.

What reallystruckme, though, istheywerebothwearing Jackie O’s earrings. But before I could askwhere they camefrom, each had plucked one fromtheir ear and tossed it on the table.
“She made these,” Patti exclaimed.
“I made these,” Cindy agreed.
And sure enough, I looked closerandeachearringturned out to be a flattened JackieO’s bottle cap, adorned with tiny rhinestones and backed with a brightly colored polymer. I looked at bothwomen — a bit slack-jawed, if I’m being honest — and they just laughed.
