Today is deadline to register to vote
Forum on prescription drug issue to be held in Dayton on Thursday.
The deadline to register to vote in the November election is today. Early voting begins Wednesday.
Voters can go to MyOhioVote.com/VoterRegistration to register online or update an existing registration. Voter registration forms can also be printed from MyOhioVote.com or obtained from a local library or board of elections office.
Voter registration online in Ohio just started earlier this year.
State Issue 2 is the big ballot issue this year and it’s shaping up to be one of the most expensive advertising campaigns in state history.
Issue 2 would require that the state, including the Ohio Department of Medicaid, pay the same or lower prices for prescription drugs as the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs — which currently negotiates drug prices 20 to 24 percent less than other agencies.
There are also hundreds of local mayor, city council, school board, township trustee and other races on the ballot. There are also hundreds of tax issues and school levies facing voters.

Public forum on Issue 2
Are you confused about State Issue 2?
If so, you’re not alone. We’ve heard from many voters saying they don’t understand the prescription drug issue on the November ballot.
This newspaper, WHIO-TV, WHIO Radio, The League of Women Voters and Sinclair Community College are teaming up for an event to inform you on this important issue before Ohio votes this fall.
At 7 p.m. on Thursday, join us for an Issue 2 forum in the Smith Auditorium in Building 12 at Sinclair Community College, 444 W. Third St. in downtown Dayton.
We will have representatives from both sides of the issue there to face questions from our reporters including WHIO-TV anchor James Brown, Dayton Daily News reporter Katie Wedell and WHIO Radio’s Brittany Otto.
