EXAMPLE FROM PERSONNEL FILE

-

The Columbus Dispatch reviewed Gregory R. Lee’s personnel file. Here are some excepts of concerns about him during his nearly 22-year teaching career in the Dublin City Schools district.

■ “It concerns me that female student athletes are commenting on his behavior. It is my impression that Mr. Lee is merely overly exuberant and enthusiastically involved with specific students.”— Head Athletic Trainer Donna Hull in a 1997 letter to Scioto Principal Marina Davis

■ “You have been directed ... on at least five separate occasions to not meet behind locked doors with female studentathletes.”— September 2002 written reprimand

■ “A parent indicated that he observed Coach Lee rubbing Ben Gay on the girls’ legs. The parent also said that Coach Lee had remarked that the girls’ bodies were becoming pretty and that they should realize how boys react to them.” — HR memo from 2002 of issues to be addressed with Lee.

■ “I believe that Lee is a great teacher that cares about what he teaches and his students A LOT. But sometimes it is overdone towards girl students.”— Student statement in 2009

■ “(Lee) then said, ’Oh let me see your under shirt it looks pretty.’ I then moved my arm down and he looked directly at my chest.”— Student statement, January 2009

■“... on days when (cheerleaders) have otherwise dressed up because of an upcoming cheerleading activity, they have donned sweatshirts and other attire over their clothing when in your classroom.” — Bill Mulbarger, director of human resources, in a letter to Lee in January 2009

■ “Gave me a pack of teacher passes w/his signature and my name on it and told me to use them whenever I wanted to just relax for a while in his room.” — Student statement, April 2017
