At least two people have been detained for questionin­g in the Warren County shooting at a residence near Waynesvill­e on Monday, sheriff ’s Lt. John Faine said.

Authoritie­s were working to determine whether the people detained are suspects or witnesses, he said.

At least one person was shot several times in an incident just south of Waynesvill­e.

The victim had at least five gunshot wounds to one of his legs but reportedly was alert and conscious after the shooting. The victim was taken to Atrium Medical Center in Middletown.

Police, Warren County sheriff ’s deputies and medic units were dispatched just after 10 p.m. on a report of a shooting in the area of U.S. 42 and North Waynesvill­e Road.

“One of the hardest things for me to do was to come back and tell my wife what happened to her horse,” Glascoe said in an interview Monday. “I don’t think someone would purposely do something like this.”

Trotwood police and the Ohio Division of Natural Resources are investigat­ing the incident, but an update from either agency wasn’t immediatel­y available.

Glascoe said he is offering a $2,500 reward for details that can help investigat­ors.

“We’re just waiting for somebody to come forward with some informatio­n that could lead to some closure for us,” Glascoe said. “I don’t believe in violence being the answer, and people are saying mean stuff on Facebook; I just want justice and some closure.”

Judge Jeannine Pratt told Paul, as she does others convicted of similar offenses, that assaults of a police officer will not be tolerated.
