RTA, partners promote safety at annual fair
The RTA, along with community partners, will promote personal safety through its second annual “Safety Fair” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 16, in the concourse of Wright Stop Plaza, 4 S. Main St. Personal safety training and demonstrations will be offered on a first-come, firstserved basis. The event is free and open to the public.
Community partners will inform the public on valuable safety tips, including weather preparedness, medical emergency warning signs, identity theft and fraud protection, how to recognize a scam, pedestrian and bicyclist safety, fire prevention, and infant mortality prevention. In addition, the RTA Safety and Security Team will talk about the agency’s “See Something, Say Something, Do Something” campaign, and more.
During the fair, participants can also attend a free, interactive personal safety classes presented by the Dayton Police Department at the following times:
■ 9:30 a.m.: Personal Safety ■ 10:45 a.m.: Run, Hide, Fight! ■ 12 p.m.: Personal Safety A valuable “RTA Safety Prize Pack” will be offered at the event. Participants will be asked to visit with each booth and have their passport stamped by at least five partners/vendors at the event to be eligible for the prize pack. Those participating in one of the personal safety classes will also be eligible for one of the prize packs.
