Garbry Museum event scheduled

Upper Valley Career Center environmen­tal occupation­s students will host the annual Willowbroo­k Environmen­tal Education Center and Garbry Museum Open House from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 22. The museum is in the center’s Garbry Hall, which is accessed from Looney Road.

This is the one time during the year that artifacts from the J. Scott Garbry Collection can be viewed by the public.

The collection is displayed as a Village Square.

Career center students will demonstrat­e Early American cooking and have cleared a loop trail around a portion of Willowbroo­k.

The 180-acre Environmen­tal Learning Lab includes a prairie, along with plant and water habitats.

Guided nature hikes will be conducted up to 2:30 p.m. The event is free.
