Man gets 4 years in fatal Piqua overdose
A Sidney man convicted of felony involuntary manslaughter in the Feb. 1 overdose death of a woman he lived with in Piqua was sentenced Tuesday, Oct. 10, to four years in prison and ordered to reimburse the woman’s mother $1,200 for funeral expenses.
Darin Reineke, 49, formerly of Piqua, pleaded guilty last month to involuntary manslaughter and corrupting another with drugs in the heroin death of Tabatha Murphy, 45. Piqua police said they found her unresponsive in the Manning Street home she shared with Reineke.
He told visiting Judge William Wolff that he was sorry for what happened.
Reineke will receive credit on his prison term for 146 days served in the county jail.
