The 2017 Fall Parade of Homes is here

- Kathleen Unger

The Home Builders Association of Dayton’s 2017 Fall Parade of Homes sponsored by Cox Media Group Ohio is taking place today and next weekend, and we invite you to participate.

The 2017 Fall Parade showcases 21 beautiful homes across the Dayton region and is free to the public. Homes are open Oct. 15 and next weekend, Oct. 21-22, from 1 to 5 p.m. (Note: Home No. 8 by Peebles Homes will not be open to the public on Oct. 21.)

The participating builders are Catalyst Homes, Charles Simms Development, Inverness Homes, Justin Doyle Homes, M/I Homes, Oberer Homes, Peebles Homes, R.M. Clemens Company and Radian Custom Homes.

The homes illustrate many desirable new building options and house trends. Best of all, every single home in the 2017 Fall Parade of Homes is available for purchase. If you find the home of your dreams, you could move in immediately after signing on the contract’s dotted line.

There are many reasons to consider purchasing a brandnew home. Getting exactly what you want in a home is a huge benefit. There is something to be said for having the specific house that suits your lifestyle.

Having a new home means little worry that you will need to replace something costly immediately – like the wornout roof or water heater of a resale. Instead, you can revel in the first few years of ownership by enjoying the fun things that owning a home can offer – furnishing, decorating and entertaining – the things that truly make a home your respite.

Owning a new home can provide an unparalleled sense of well-being, security and achievement. It is the primary source of wealth and financial security for many households, and helps to provide for education, retirement and more.

From Tipp City to Frank-

lin and Clayton to Beavercreek, plus all points in between, there are many styles of homes to view – multi-level, ranch, cottage and empty nester homes – and all are available for purchase. Prices range from $214,900 to $989,900.

We encourage you to visit before the 2017 Fall Parade of Homes ends. No matter what your budget, where you work or where your children attend school – you should be able to find a Parade home that makes sense for you and your family.

If you are seriously in the market for a new home or soon will be, you will want to check out homes within your budget.

Also, look at homes located in communities that you might wish to reside in. If you aren’t familiar with a community, visit the Parade home and ask questions. The homes will be staffed by the builders or their representatives and they are a great source for information.

Discuss in advance with your family what tradeoffs you would be willing to make. For example, are you willing to “pay more for less house” if it would enable your children to attend great public schools? Are you willing to forego a sunroom in order to purchase flooring, fixture and cabinet upgrades for your kitchen and bathrooms? Also, remember that many of the Parade builders are building new homes throughout the Dayton region. If you see a home that you really like, but prefer a different location or already own a building lot, ask the builder if he or she could build a comparable home in the area you desire. Finally, don’t let your eyes get bigger than your budget.

Not certain you are ready for a new home, but you would like ideas for your current or future house? The 2017 Fall Parade of Homes can provide many great ideas for decorating, floor plans, fixtures and finishes.

With so many homes on display, it makes sense to plan your touring route carefully. Before hitting the road, refer to the Fall Parade information located in the Real Estate Plus section of the Dayton Daily News. You will find a Parade locator map, home information and photos.
