Sister City events will mark 45th anniversary
Oakwood Sister City Association will host a delegation of distinguished guests from Le Vesinet, France, Saturday through Tuesday, to mark the 45th anniversary of our cities’ twinning.
As part of a jam-packed weekend itinerary, OSCA announces a “tres chic” Twinning Gala, to begin at 8 p.m. Saturday at Taj Ma Garaj in Dayton; all adult Oakwood residents and guests are encouraged to attend. The event will include an official welcome by Oakwood Mayor Bill Duncan.
The Bill Burns’ Bright Moments Trio will provide jazz for dancing and listening at the gala, and Kohler Catering will serve heavy hors d’oeuvres such as handcarved prime rib, lobster mac and cheese, lamb bites, vegetarian choices including a bruschetta bar, an array of international wines and French pastries.
An afternoon tea at Central Perc on Sunday is also planned, as well as a luncheon with city officials, a cocktail reception and side trips to the Air Force Museum, Dayton Art Institute and the Shops of Oakwood.
To RSVP for the Saturday gala, visit the event posting on Oakwood Sister City Association’s Facebook page.
