Warrant issued in shooting death

-

A Cleveland man is accused of killing a 29-yearold man sitting in his SUV outside a family party.

Cleveland.com reports Carl Holland III, 28, is charged with aggravated murder in the Oct. 14 shooting of Robert Harrell of Euclid.

Holland is not in police custody and a warrant was issued Monday for his arrest.

The shooting happened as Harrell sat in his parked Jeep Cherokee in front of a home.

Holland went to the party with another man, according to police reports. Witnesses described his behavior as erratic and the hosts asked him to leave, along with the two other men who came with him, police reports say.

Holland walked up to the front part of the house and fired several gunshots, including several into a crowd of about 10 people, police reports and court records say. The people standing outside were not hurt.

Police went to the home and later found Harrell sitting inside the SUV parked in front of the home with a gunshot wound to the head, according to police reports. The SUV was still running.

Harrell was taken to University Hospitals, where he died the next day.

Police found the other two men that were with Holland and tested them for gunshot residue. Both were released from custody after the test.

Holland has one prior felony conviction for vandalism in 2007. He was sentenced to probation, which he violated. He was then sentenced to 90 days in jail.
