Teen shot when boy opens fire on home

-

A 14-year-old boy was injured Tuesday night after another boy opened fire on his Cleveland home following a dispute over a PlayStation, police say.

Cleveland.com reports the teenager suffered a minor gunshot wound to his back and was treated at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, a Cleveland police report says.

The shooter was another boy, but his age was not listed in the police report.

The incident happened at the victim’s house in the city’s Mt. Pleasant neighborhood. The shooter walked into the victim’s home about 9 p.m. while talking about an iPhone he took from someone else, according to the report.

A 34-year-old woman intervened and took the phone away from the boy. She told him “You’re not getting this phone back until you bring back my PlayStation,” the report says.

The boy denied taking the gaming console from the home, and the woman kicked him out, the report says.

Another child looked out a side window and saw the shooter standing on Luke Avenue pointing a gun toward the home, the report says. The child heard five or six gunshots and saw the boy firing at the home, the report says.

At least one bullet was fired into the house. It struck the 14-year-old boy in his lower back, the report says.

A juvenile court spokeswoman did not immediately respond to inquiries about whether the shooter has been charged.
