Kettering No.5 in Ranking of safest Ohio cities
Dear Neighbors,
Our community has another reason to be proud that Kettering is home. In late November, annual results for the Safest City in Ohio were released and Kettering ranked fifth in the state.
A consortium of home security experts analyze several factors such as number and type of crimes committed, number of law enforcement officers compared to population, median income, education level, unemployment rate and population data to determine the safest communities in our state. Kettering was the only city in our region to rank in the Top 5. Thank you to our outstanding Kettering Police Department and all of our active citizens who help make the City of Kettering one of the Top 5 Safest Cities in Ohio!
Accolades are also due to incoming City Councilmember Jacque Fisher. Jacque was recently named as a winner of the prestigious YWCA Women of Influence recognition for 2018. Since 1998, YWCA Dayton has honored Dayton’s most influential women, all of whom have made a difference in our community through their dedication to the YWCA mission of empowering women, eliminating racism and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. Congratulations, Jacque!
Kettering is home to outstanding public administrators and dedicated elected officials who work tirelessly every day.
For more than 9 years I have had the honor of serving the residents of Kettering alongside Councilmember Amy Schrimpf. Amy is a bright, compassionate and devoted advocate for the Ketter- ing community and the Dayton region. I could always count on Amy to ask the tough questions in our work sessions and speak up for the best interests of our residents. I am grateful to Amy for her leadership on Kettering City Council. She is a trusted adviser
and an even better friend. She will be truly missed. Next time you see Amy around town, please take a moment to thank her for her service.
