Movie: Pitch Perfect, 8:30 PM on Ch. 2 and Ch. 5:

More than a big-screen “Glee,” this 2012 comedy with a big dose of music has an engaging energy all its own. Anna Kendrick plays an unlikely new member of a college singing group who proves to be the spark it needs in a competition. Rebel Wilson (“Bridesmaids”) is the picture’s scene stealer as another member. Co-stars also include Skylar Astin, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow and Elizabeth Banks, who was a producer of the picture as well. “Pitch Perfect 3” hits theaters Friday, Dec. 22.

The Top 12 Greatest Christmas Movies of All Time, 9 PM on Ch. 26:

Dean Cain, along with some of his friends and colleagues, hosts this holiday special (first shown in 2016), which counts down films that are, by general consensus, among the dozen greatest yuletide-themed movies ever made. Some make us laugh and some make us weep, but all of them have two things in common: In some way, they define what Christmas is all about and they make us want to watch them again and again.

Gunpowder, 10 PM on HBO:

In Episode 3, the miniseries finale, on the evening before Nov. 5, Catesby, Fawkes (Kit Harington, Tom Cullen) and other members of their gang load the tunnels running under Parliament with barrels of gunpowder, which Fawkes is to ignite at the appropriate time. Across town, Father Henry Garnet (Peter Mullan), a charismatic Jesuit leader, wrestles with the morality of Catesby’s scheme as others urge him to expose the Gunpowder Plot for the sake of the Catholic faith.
