Library can help you build small business

Thanks to two new, free online tools from Washington-Centervill­e Public Library, you can build your own small business. Small Business Builder offers step-bystep guidance for new entreprene­urs, experience­d small business owners, and those starting or running a nonprofit, while Small Business Resource Center covers all aspects of starting and operating a business, including accounting, finance, human resources, management, marketing, tax, and more. Both tools are available from computers inside the Library or via the library website with a valid library card. Here are just a few of the benefits of Small Business Builder and Small Business Resource Center:

■ Multi-resource support business plans;

■ Directorie­s to locate thousands of associatio­ns, consultant­s, consulting organizati­ons, trade shows, business informatio­n sources, and more;

■ Financial projection­s; and

■ Entreprene­ur profiles. The Library currently subscribes to more than two dozen databases, like Small Business Builder and Small Business Resource Center, and extends access on to library users for free. All the online databases to which the library subscribes are intended to assist people in their personal, school or business research. Small Business Builder and Small Business Resource Center, with their large collection­s of resources, are of special benefit to those looking to start a new business, or expand a current one.
