Will Golden Globes react to current events?

Don’t miss: “The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards”: We don’t envy host Seth Meyers. Normally, this celebratio­n of the year’s best movies and TV shows is a fun, freewheeli­ng and booze-filled bash. But as Hollywood continues to be rocked by claims of sexual harassment and assault, it’s unclear how current events will affect the proceeding­s. Of course, a sense of unpredicta­bility often can make for good TV. 8 p.m. Sunday, NBC.

Other bets:

Today: Set in the South Side of Chicago, “The Chi” is a compelling drama series about a group of residents who become linked by a senseless crime. The show was created by Lena Waithe, who last year became the first black woman to win an Emmy for comedy series writing (“Master of None”). 10 p.m., Showtime.

Monday: “David Bowie: The Last Five Years” is an illuminati­ng documentar­y that delves into the innovative rock star’s late-life creative resurgence. After ending nearly a decade of silence, Bowie produced two groundbrea­king albums and a musical before he died. 8 p.m., HBO.

Tuesday: Tyra Banks makes her hosting return as “America’s Next Top Model” launches a new season. Fourteen fresh faces will be vying for a modeling contract and $100,000. 8 p.m., VH1.

Tuesday: “American Experience: Into the Amazon” recalls the perilous 1914 journey taken by President Theodore Roosevelt and Brazilian explorer Candido Mariano da Silva Rondon. What was expected to be relatively tranquil trip turned out to be a brutal test of courage and character, claiming the lives of three men. 9 p.m., PBS.

Wednesday: Stand-up comedians Esther Povitsky and Benji Aflalo headline the funny new series “Alone Together.” It follows two Want to know even more about what’s worth watching this week? Wednesday:In the Season 3 opener of “The Magicians,” Quentin and Julia attempt to bring magic back after eliminatin­g an evil god. Meanwhile, Eliot and Margo chafe under the fairy occupation. 9 p.m., Syfy.

Wednesday: “Rooster & Butch” is a new unscripted series pegged to self-made Texas millionair­es Mike “Rooster” McConaughe­y and Butch Gilliam. They’re looking for ambitious entreprene­urs to spread their wealth via bold investment deals. 10 p.m., A&E.

Thursday: On “Making a Model With Yolanda Hadid,” the title star coaches aspiring teen models to succeed on and off the catwalk. The participan­ts are put through an intensive eight-week training program designed to build a “sustainabl­e brand.” 10 p.m., Lifetime.

Friday: As Season 2 of “Taken” begins, Bryan Mills fights for his life inside a secret Mexican prison and plans a series of dangerous deals to help him escape to the United States. But plans change when Mills and a young migrant girl are taken by human trafficker­s. 9 p.m., NBC.

Saturday: “The Girl on the Train,” the 2016 psychologi­cal thriller based on the best-seller by Paula Hawkins, follows a recent divorcée (Emily Blunt) who fantasizes about a couple whose house she passes on her daily commute. Soon, she becomes entangled in a shocking mystery. 9 p.m., Showtime.
