New Miami Valley Hospital president to have dual role at Premier Health

Miami Valley Hospital has named a new president.
Michael J. Maiberger, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Premier Health, will assume a dual role as the president of Miami Valley Hospital, the health system said in a statement.
As the president of Miami Valley, Maiberger will lead the largest hospital in the region and the flagship hospital of Premier, the largest health care network in the region.
Miami Valley Hospital is based just south of down- town and is a major eco- nomic anchor in the Dayton area. As of 2015, it employed 6,711 people, including 1,142 physicians.
The hospital is home to the only Level 1 Trauma center in the Dayton region, which is the highest level of com- prehensive trauma care, and reported 128,804 ER visits as of 2015. It is also home to specialized services like the regional adult burn cen- ter and a high-risk maternity ward.
The Dayton Daily News reported in April that Miami Valley Hospital President Mark Shaker planned to step down and a search for his replacement was underway.
In his present role, Maiberger is responsible for dayto-day operations across the health system.
Maiberger’s 25 years of experience includes stints as chief value officer, chief strategy officer and presi- dent and CEO of Upper Valley Medical Center. He previously was at McLeod Health in South Carolina.

The second largest hospital in the region also recently appointed a new president. Kettering Medical Center, with Kettering Health Network, in November named Terry Burns its new president to replace Jarrod McNaugh- ton.
