TV HIGHLIGHTS
Taken, 9 PM on Ch. 2 and Ch. 5:
A plane crash is just the start of trouble for Mills (Clive Standen) in the new episode “Quarry,” as he’s injured in the accident while transporting a murder witness (guest star Alexander Draper). With mercenaries stalking them through a densely wooded area, Mills draws upon the survival techniques his father taught him. Santana (Jessica Camacho) is determined to find him. Isaac Kragten plays the even younger Mills in flashbacks. Jennifer Beals and Adam Goldberg also star.
American Masters, 9 PM on Ch. 48; 2 AM on Ch. 16 and Ch. 48:
A great American playwright is recalled in the new profile “Lorraine Hansberry: Sighted Eyes/ Feeling Heart,” with Anika Noni Rose voicing personal words by the author of the groundbreaking drama “A Raisin in the Sun.” Rare home movies and photos help in illuminating Hansberry’s life and influences, as do comments from interviewees including Sidney Poitier, Ruby Dee and Louis Gossett Jr. — all of whom starred in the 1961 film of “Raisin.” LaTanya Richardson Jackson narrates the portrait by filmmaker Tracy Heather Strain.
High Maintenance, 11 PM on HBO; 1:30 AM on HBO:
This sly, character-driven comedy returns with fresh slices of New York life as perceived by The Guy (Ben Sinclair), a pot-dealing deliveryman. In the Season 2 premiere, “Globo,” the troubling state of world affairs means a sharp increase in demand for his services. The morning after a hookup, two hotel guests enjoy a carefree day, oblivious to what’s going on outside their door. A client’s roommate (Joshua Schubart) tries not to let his worries drive him to break his diet.
