Communicat­ion Center has 5-second average

The Miami County Communicat­ion Center staff averaged answering all calls - emergency and administra­tive - in five seconds or less in 2017, Jeff Busch, the center’s director, reported to the center’s board and the county commission­ers. The center handles all fire, police and EMS calls countywide.

The industry standard set by the Associatio­n of Public Safety Communicat­ions Officers is 10 seconds or less for 911 calls and 15 seconds or less for administra­tive line calls.
