Communication Center has 5-second average
The Miami County Communication Center staff averaged answering all calls - emergency and administrative - in five seconds or less in 2017, Jeff Busch, the center’s director, reported to the center’s board and the county commissioners. The center handles all fire, police and EMS calls countywide.
The industry standard set by the Association of Public Safety Communications Officers is 10 seconds or less for 911 calls and 15 seconds or less for administrative line calls.
