Dragons’ national anthem singer tryouts are today

- STAFF REPORT

A traditional sign that baseball season is just around the corner in the Miami Valley is the Dayton Daily News /Dayton Dragons National Anthem Tryouts. Auditions for national anthem performers for the 2018 season will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the Mall at Fairfield Commons, 2727 Fairfield Commons Blvd.

The winners will perform the national anthem at Dragons games throughout the season, with the grand prize winner performing at Opening Night 2018 before the Dragons host the Bowling Green Hot Rods at Fifth Third Field on April 7 at 7 p.m.

The first 200 entrants who pre-registered for this event have received a scheduled tryout time.

In the event that all of the allotted spots are filled, performers could still have a chance to perform at the auditions on a standby basis.

If one of our pre-registered performers is not present when their performance number comes up, or if organizers run ahead of schedule, they will pull performers from the standby list.

To register as a standby performer, you must come to today’s tryouts at the Mall at Fairfield Commons. You will receive a standby number, and this number will be called when a spot becomes available. Standby performers are not guaranteed a chance to audition, so those interested are strongly encouraged to sign up at daytondragons.com/nationalanthem.
