Starbucks has added two new Dayton-area coffee shops in highly visible and well-traveled locations.

Both new stores are located in Dayton’s south suburbs, and their recent openings continue a recent trend of the nation’s largest retail coffee chain targeting suburban communities surrounding Dayton for expansion.

A Starbucks opened recently 860 W. Central Ave. (Ohio 73) just east of the I-75 interchange in Springboro, a store employee told this news outlet Monday.

That Springboro opening follows by a few weeks the opening of one of the largest Starbucks shops in the Miami Valley, at 919 Lyons Road at Miamisburg-Centerville Road (Ohio 725) in Washington Twp. The 3,400-square-foot structure previously housed a KeyBank branch.

Plans for the new shop on Ohio 725 called for interior seating for 50 and two patios, one seating 30 and the other 12, according to Washington Twp. records.

Starbucks has been in rapid expansion mode in suburban areas around Dayton in the last couple of years, opening locations across from The Greene Town Center in Beavercreek, near Meijer in Englewood, and on East Dayton-Yellow Springs Road in Fairborn.
