One-car crash claims life of Geneva man

There was a one-vehicle fatal crash on Austin Road on Saturday, said Assistant Post Commander Sgt. L.P. Jones of the Ashtabula Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol in a news release.

“The Ashtabula Post of the Highway Patrol is investigating a one car crash that occurred on Saturday at approximately 11:50 p.m. on Austin Road,” he said.

“A 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling northbound on Austin when it drove off the left side of the roadway, striking two trees, a mailbox and a fence, ejecting the driver from the vehicle.”

He said the Chevrolet Cobalt was driven by 43-year-old Thomas B. Herron of Geneva.
