Centerville-based Ohio’s Hospice has an agreement with Ohio State University to create a new inpatient unit. The 12-bed unit at University Hospital in Columbus will be staffed by experts in end of life, palliative and bereavement care, such as physicians, nurses and social workers. Families will be able to stay with or visit their loved ones 24 hours a day, seven days aweek. The unit should open this fall, according to Ohio’s Hospice. Ohio’s Hospice affiliate Hospice of Central Ohio will manage the inpatient hospice unit at Wexner Medical Center. Ohio’s Hospice is a network of nonprofit hospices in 36 Ohio counties.
