The Engineers Club of Dayton, in collaboration with the Sinclair College National UAS Training and Certification Center, has announced the establishment of the Charles F. Kettering “Bug” Award to coincide with the 100th anniversary of its first flight.
The award is named in honor of Kettering, who, in partnership with OrvilleWright, was the driving force behind the design and successful flight testing of the U.S. Army Signal Corps’ first Aerial Torpedo, known today as Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
