United Healthcare honored Beavercreek-based Wright-Patt Credit Union, Inc. (WPCU) with a “Well Deserved” award for implementing a successful workplace well-being program that helps improve its employees’ health.

WPCU’s wellness program is focused on creating a “simply extraordinary” wellness experience for each of its 855 employees. It offers nearly every programming opportunity at no cost to participants (with or without benefits coverage from the credit union). The goal is to ensure employees receive the resources needed to accelerate their personal wellness journey.

WPCU provides wellness activities based on specific demographic groups (millennials, employees approaching retirement, females, males, etc.), which has resulted in increased participation.

This is UnitedHealthcare’s 10th year honoring employers that have implemented innovative well-being programs to support their employees’ health goals. UnitedHealthcare works with an external broker review panel to review and judge all applicants.

UnitedHealthcare analysis reveals that when compared to their peers, employees of Well Deserved award winners show lower costs and better engagement in key areas such as wellness and preventive screening compliance, selecting appropriate care settings, and using care providers that are highly ranked for quality care and cost-efficiency.
