Civilizations, 8 PM on Ch. 16 and Ch. 48:

The Liev Schreiber-narrated documentary series concludes its run with “What Is Art (Good For)?,” a study of the possible respite that paintings, sculptures and other works offer from what can be the tumult of real-world events. On the other hand, the question of whether such items should reflect the times in which they’re created also is considered. As might be expected, times of revolution and war are prime for the debate of what art should be.

Bizarre Foods With Andrew Zimmern, 9 PM on TRAV; 12 AM on TRAV:

Host Andrew Zimmern follows some of the most iconic routes in history in Season 20 of his hit culinary series. In the season premiere, Zimmern rides the last 200 miles of the old Pony Express Trail, to its endpoint in Sacramento, Calif. Along the way, he samples the food those young riders in the past would have enjoyed, such as son-of-agun stew, fire-roasted duck hearts, boiled elk tongue and pine nut soup, as well as fresher creations such as cowboy sushi (wagyu beef over vinegar-seasoned rice).

The Last Defense, 10 PM on Ch. 22 and Ch. 9:

One of this documentary series’ stories concludes with the new episode“Darlie Routier: The Fight,” in which Routier’s defense attorneys try to come up with fresh plans to present her case in a retrial. Time is of the essence since she has been sentenced to death, and the strain of that apparent fate expectedly weighs heavily on her existing relationships — and one in particular. Spouses Viola Davis and Julius Tennon are among the executive producers here.
