Gallery shows local photographer’s work
The July exhibit at the Gallery at Lofino Plaza, located within the Lofino Plaza and Senior Center, features the photography of Bill Woody, past president of Dayton’s Tripod Camera Club.
The Beavercreek resident has taught photography workshops in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and Arizona and his photographic pursuits have included Early Mornings, Victorian Houses and Abandoned Places. The current exhibit includes a cross section of his recent projects, including grand scenic and mining towns of the old west, the Downtown Dayton Arcade, the Northern Michigan Asylum and an industrial project at the Silo City Photographic Workshop in Buffalo, New York.
A reception for Woody will take place from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, at the gallery is located inside of the Lofino Plaza and Senior Center at 3868 Dayton-Xenia Road in Beavercreek. The gallery hours are Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m.–7 p.m., Friday 9 a.m.–4 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-noon.

DIANA BLOWERS, CONTRIBUTING WRITER not just WIC participants. If you are trying to decide how best to feed your newborn when he or she arrives, this class will provide you with valuable information to help make the best choice for the health of your baby.
The classes, offered monthly at both the Xenia (360 Wilson Dr.) and Fairborn (600 Pierce Dr.) WIC offices, will cover how to feed your baby, getting started with breastfeeding, how to know if your baby is getting enough to eat, how to make infant formula, offer a bottle, and so much more. Morning and late afternoon/evening classes are available, and you only need to register for one class (not a series).
The classes are open to pregnant women and their support people.
Spouses, partners, and all other support people are strongly encouraged to attend. Classes available in July are:
■ Thursday, July 12, 10 a.m., Fairborn
■ Thursday, July 12, 5:15 p.m., Xenia
■ Wednesday, July 25, 10:45a.m., Xenia
