An 18-year-old accused of murdering a Huber Heights man on Memorial Day was arrested last week, police said.

Tylin Christopher Watson is accused of killing Sorin Farcas, 19, who was shot in the head at the residence in the 7300 block of Charnwood Drive about 3 a.m. on Memorial Day.

Bond for Watson has been set at $250,000 on charges of murder, aggravated robbery, felonious assault, kidnapping, tampering with evidence and having weapons as a felon. The warrant for Watson was filed in the Montgomery County Municipal Court Eastern Division, where bond was set.

Dayton police arrested Watson the night of July 10 at an apartment on Linden Avenue on a possession of drugs charge, which was cleared, according to jail records and an incident report. Huber Heights police detectives met with the Montgomery County prosecutors to obtain formal charges.

There are court dates scheduled for later this week on felony drug and stolen property charges. Bond is set at $50,000 in the drug case, $10,000 in the property case.

A call to 911 revealed a witness reported Farcas had been shot.

“Oh my God, my friend just got shot in the head,” the caller said. “I just ran to the back, I’m really scared.”

“Is your friend beyond help?” the dispatcher asked during the call.

“He’s dead,” the caller replied. “They shot him in the head, dude.”

In the shootings aftermath, Huber Heights Sgt. Brad Reaman said Farcas and the witness were both in the garage when a male approached. Farcas was shot, and the suspected shooter — described as a male wearing a red hoodie — left the scene in a car.

Farcas was pronounced dead about 10 minutes after police arrived.

Farcas enrolled this spring at Sinclair College as a math major, said Deena John, a Sinclair College spokeswoman. Prior, Farcas was involved in the school’s Miami Valley Tech Prep Consortium. Students who elect to participate in Tech Prep may earn college credits while in high school and are eligible to receive a Sinclair scholarship, she said.
