August food events offer plenty of great tastes

Tickets can be purchased in advance online and at the restaurant with pricing fixed at $49 per person, which includes tax and tip. An optional wine pairing can be added for $15.

Aug. 17: Yellow Cab Food Truck Rally

Dayton’s monthly outdoor food party featuring some of the regions best food trucks, free live music and local craft beers is back for the month of August. Try it out before the summer’s over and these great outdoor part iesgoonhia­tus.

Aug. 18: Bacon Fest

Everything is better with bacon and this event aims to pro veit.The event commemorat­ing pork’s best side is back with more food and dishes that will make you want to kick off the front door. Baconlicou­s delights at last years Bacon Fest included bacon funnel cakes, bacon tacos, candied bacon and bacon wrapped chicken wings. Restaurant­s confirmed so far include: Amber Rose Restaurant and Catering, Archer’s Tavern, Basil’s On Market, The Dock Food & Spirits, Enon, elé Cake Co., Bistro& Wine Bar, El Meson, Marion’s Piazza, 1776 Grill and SweetUmms Chocolatie­r.

Aug. Great American Beer Tasting

With more than 250 craft beers, restaurant­s selling food and some of the region’s most appreciati­ve beer drinkers, AleFest Dayton is a hot ticket. General admission is $40 in advance and $45 at the door. A limited number of VIP admission tickets will be sold allowing early access to the event. VIPs also receive exclusive access to a number of rare beers and specialty casks. VIP tickets are $60 in advanc e,$65atth e door.

Aug. 30: The Taste

Presented by the Kettering-Moraine-Oakwood Chamber of Commerce, the 32nd Annual The Taste festival will feature food samplesfro­mmoret han 30 restaurant­s. Cost is $25 in advance and $30 the day of the event.
