A 19-year-old CLEVELAND — man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested in connection with the pistol-whipping and carjacking of a 75-yearold man.

U.S. Marshals on Thursday arrested Jonathan Hill, 19, and a 17-year-old accomplice after they were charged with aggravated robbery, felonious assault and other charges. Both were arrested in an apartment building in the 4700 block of Pearl Road, U.S. Marshals said.

The robbery happened July 9 at the man’s apartment on Puritas Avenue near West 140th Street in the Bellaire-Puritas neighborhood.

The man told police he was walking to his car in a lot behind his apartment building to get some groceries, when he noticed two men walk by.

He unlocked his car and the two men walked up behind him, pointed a gun at him and demanded that he get inside the car, police reports say.

The man told police he froze. One of the robbers struck him in the head with a pistol, knocking him unconscious, police reports say.

He woke in time to see the men speed off in his 2000 Chevy Impala, police reports say. Officers found the man with three cuts on his head and face, which was covered in blood, police reports say.

The man was taken to Fairview Hospital for treatment.
