Miami Valley Hospital listed 4th-best in Ohio
Miami Valley Hospital is ranked the fourth top performing hospital in Ohio, according to U.S. News & World Report.
Local hospitals received high marks on the annual report, which ranks best overall hospitals as well as top performing specialties.
Miami Valley officials said it’s the second consecutive year that the hospital achieved the highest ranking in the Cincinnati and Dayton region.
“Miami Valley Hospital continues to take care to a higher level in our region,” said hospital President Mike Maiberger.
U.S. News evaluates each hospital in up to 16 medical specialties.
Miami Valley, operated by Premier Health, also ranked 49th in the nation for diabetes and endocrinology care, 48th for nephrology, and 28 pulmonology.
The hospital had six specialties ranked as high performing: cardiology and heart surgery, gastroenterology and GI surgery, geriatrics, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, and urology.
Kettering Medical Center, operated by Kettering Health Network, is ranked 15th of Ohio’s 220 hospitals.
UC Health West Chester Hospital received high performing rankings for COPD and heart failure. The hospital did not have specialties that ranked.
The highest ranking hospital in Ohio was the Cleveland Clinic, followed by University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
