Outcast, 8 PM on MAX: If you’ve been intending to catch up on Season 2 of this gratifyingly creepy adaptation of a Robert Kirkman horror comic that isn’t “The Walking Dead,” now’s a perfect chance. The series, which stars Patrick Fugit and Philip Glenister, is taking this holiday weekend off, so in lieu of the usual new episode, the premium channel airs this behindthe-scenes special exploring the world of “Outcast” and its characters, followed by a marathon of the previously aired Season 2 episodes. American Masters, 9 PM on Ch. 48; 1 AM on Ch. 16 and Ch. 48: When Eva Hesse died of a brain tumor in 1980, her passing cut short the life and career of one of the few women whose work had earned her a place in the hyper-competitive New York art scene. The new episode “Eva Hesse” serves as an illuminating appreciation of this 34-year-old German-born American artist who demonstrated such tragically unfulfilled promise. Marcie Begleiter’s documentary also explores the lively and kinetic creative community in 1960s-era New York and Germany. The Dead Files, 9 PM on TRAV; 12 AM on TRAV: In “Revealed: The Devil Inside — Applegate, California,” a new pop-up-enhanced version of a previously screened episode, medium Amy Allan and former police detective Steve DiSchiavi try to come to the rescue of a frightened cancer survivor, her two children, and her older sister, all living in California. Amy’s psychic exploration of the home in question turns up some hideous and demonic gargoyles that prey on the living, while Steve discovers a cult-related execution-style slaying once happened near the property.
