Movie: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, 5:45 PM on HBO:

J.K. Rowling made her screenwrit­ing debut with this whimsical 2016 spinoff of the blockbuste­r movie adaptation­s of her “Harry Potter” novels, with Eddie Redmayne starring as Newt Scamander, a “magizoolog­ist” tracking down magical creatures set free in the wizarding world of 1926 New York. Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Samantha Morton and Alison Sudol co-star in the movie, which became the first Harry Potter-related film to win an Oscar (for costume design).

Pink Collar Crimes, 8 PM on Ch. 7 and Ch. 12:

It’s one thing to be dedicated to clipping coupons, and quite another to be the person who creates the coupons that are clipped. The latter is the theme of the new episode “The Queen of Coupons,” about a Phoenix housewife whose scheme resulted in the biggest, most profitable fake-coupon operation ever staged in America. Law veteran Marcia Clark weighs in with her take on the case.

Season 9 of this hit reality series for feline lovers opens with “Posey the Terror,” in which Jackson has his heavily scratched hands full as he tries to soothe a deeply neurotic cat that is terrorizin­g its family, just as they’re about to bring home a newborn baby to join their household. Later, and on the other end of the kitty temperamen­t spectrum, Jackson meets an inspiratio­nal cat named Skinny. Also: Cole and Marmalade, two cats who have become viral social media superstars. Another new episode follows.
