Police find man dead after his wife’s body found in their home

- By Dean Narciso

A man police were searching for in the death of his wife was found dead Sunday.

Kenneth R. West, 47, had been charged with abuse of a corpse before he was found. Police aren’t yet saying how his wife, Diana West, 68, died, or where she was found in the home.

Kenneth West was found dead Sunday outside of the jurisdiction, according to the Marysville Division of Police, but no details were provided, according to NBC 4 in Columbus.

Police were called to the 1300 block of Milstone Drive in the southwest corner of the city Saturday to check on the well-being of Diana West. Her family became concerned after exchanging unusual text messages with her.

Marysville police and agents with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation came to the home with a search warrant Saturday afternoon and found the woman dead inside the home.

Diana West’s daughter, who lives in southwest Ohio, told police that she became concerned when she had not spoken to her mother in several weeks. She had received text messages from her mother’s phone that she did not believe were from her mother. She said that in calls to Kenneth West, her stepfather, he was evasive, according to police.

“When she’d call, her mother was never available to talk on the phone ... she was sick or sleeping or she couldn’t come to the phone,” Marysville Deputy Police Chief Tony Brooks said.

Diana West also hadn’t shown up for work earlier this week.
